The C-BLUES project was well represented at this expert meeting on Blue Carbon Ecosystems. The purpose of the workshop was the interrogate the latest advances in monitoring distributions of seagrass, mangroves, salt marshes and macroalgae, converging on improved rates of carbon sequestration and good discussions on reporting of greenhouse gas fluxes. The workshop held discussions on advancing opportunities for credit financing and stakeholder cooperation to accelerate, socially and ecologically just approaches to enhance blue carbon ecosystem expansion to contribute to mitigating climate change and increase associated coastal services. The workshop included a tour of South African seagrass restoration activities field trip
